Volume Most people make the huge error when dieting that they must eat less food, when they actually need to be eating less calories. The key where is VOLUME. See all foods contain calories and the amount of calories we consume ultimately determines our weight. - So when dieting the key is to reduce calories not so Much the amount of food we eat, as this is just going to lead to hunger. - But how can you do this? - Well all diets have one thing in common, they suggest an increase in consumption of vegetables. Why? - Because vegetables are predominantly water and fibre. Which means for each 100g of food they contain a very small amount of calories. So they will fill you up, but provide only a very small amount of calories. This is what's called caloric density. For example 100g of broccoli is only 34 calories Whereas 100g of bread is 240 calories Or another comparison 100g of cucumber is 12 calories & 100g nuts is 640 calories Now as you can see vegetables are WAAAY less caloriccally dense. Meaning you can eat much more of them for any given meal. Like 5.3kg of cucumber for the same calories as 100g of nuts if for some outlandish reason you choose to do so. But you get my point. - This is why tracking your macros has huge benefits. Because you are faced with these numbers everyday! This means you can't help but become more aware and educated on the foods your actually eating. You can start to see why some foods aren't the best for losing weight and why some are very helpful. Lots of healthy foods are still super high in calories (cheese, avocado, nuts) and for this reason still need to be carefully consumed when fat loss is your primary goal. - So stop guessing with your health. - Stop leaving results on the table by just winging it - Track your macros Fill up on volume foods And if your still stuck, get help! And I chose to indulge in nachos with cheese and a cherry icee while watching a movie with my wife. . In the past, I used to avoid events like this while being on a diet for the summer. . Raw rice has 76g of carbs while cooked rice has 30g of carbs per 100g. 🍚 - I see many beginner dieters making this mistake, they count raw calories but weigh-in cooked food or vice versa. If you are doing this, it may be the reason why you have not been losing/gaining weight as you thought you would. 😰 - To fix this simply stick to one method of tracking, if you weigh-in the food raw, make sure to count it as raw as well.
