Hugging the dunes, dwarfed by coastal winds and pruned by acid rain, a stand of pines grows in the shadow of the steelworks. . It's off limits, probably because of nearby a toxic waste dump, but there's plenty of evidence of visitors whenever I've explored. . Despite a wealth of texture and form, I've found it hard to to take good pictures of this location. These iPad pictures have only worked reasonably well because I realised it was better to not try and take pictures of the trees, but instead focus on the light as the main subject. . . . #rentalmagazine #somewheremagazine #myfeatureshoot #landscape_lovers #landscape_captures #subjectivelyobjective #thinkverylittle #walesonline #thewalescollective #igerswales #discovercymru

While some types of the net fishing is considered unsustainable there is another aspect to the fishing nets that is a cause of major environmental harm. Known as ghost fishing nets, experts have estimated that there are roughly 640 000 tonnes of these nets currently in our ocean, accounting for 10 percent of the total plastic waste in the sea. Every year hundreds of thousands of marine animals – such as sea turtles, seals, dolphins and whales – are harmed by ocean plastic pollution and abandoned plastic fishing nets are a significant part of the problem. These nets can travel long distances from their points of origin and can remain in the ocean long after they are discarded, resulting in the entrapment and death of marine mammals, sea birds and fish. The result is an increasingly critical global threat to marine life. .
