3 differnts types of barbells to strengthen Β your squats!🧐 β€’Video #1 StandarΒ Bar:Β If you’ve ever performed a barbell exercise in a commercial gym, this is probably the bar you are accustomed to. this bar usually weights 45lb. In my opinion is the easiest to use. also, the one that it is use in competitions. β€’Video #2 Β An arched or β€˜cambered’ bar is another option for training your squat that really challenges your posterior muscles, similar to the safety squat bar. The cambered bar also challenges your stability much more as the weights swing and force you to get much tighter while squatting. Make sure that you know how much the bar weigthΒ before adding the plates (do not assume that weights 45lb I already made that mistake I almost diedπŸ˜…) β€’Video #3Β if you lack shoulder mobility or feel pain during a traditional back squat, this is a great option as it is much nicer on the shoulders due to the yoke attached to the front of the bar for you to grab. This bar will also change the mechanics of the squat and force you to use more hamstring, glute and back muscles than a traditional squat. **SOUND ON πŸ”ˆ** Rankin’s Speed Rants: β€œIf you do more than your usual daily output e.g. you went for a long hike how would you adjust your food intake?” Often referred to as β€œNEAT” (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) Things such as: ➑️Hiking ➑️Physically demanding job ➑️Running around the park playing football with your kids ➑️Walking your dog Need to be accounted for in terms of energy expenditure, especially if it’s a regular addition to your daily routine. Listen to your hunger signals - even if you’ve β€œeaten all your set calories and macros for the day” and you’re starving this may be your body telling you something. The answer in short is make adjustments if you feel you need to! There is not an exact number to how much of an adjustment to make as everybody is different as are different forms of NEAT but simply start by making small increases and see how your body responds after times of increased daily output.
