ESTHER REYES [@erays13]... I am a near-sighted, self-taught Korean-American photographer who walks the streets of the San Francisco Bay Area where I have lived since birth. I go searching for fleeting occurrences of alignment between my psyche and my environment. I like to observe how order and disorder, chaos and harmony play themselves out on a smaller, under-the-radar scale. Shadows, reflections and visual imperfections often pull me in. The random impermanence of such moments and inability to duplicate them make them precious especially when the content seems the opposite. Photography has become a practice to manifest subjectivity, to mediate ambiguity, and to ask more questions. .
